Aztex Fan Club Signup

Seen on the Aztexan site today, the team has established a fan club. It sounds like, from the signup form, it's mainly a mailing list, "for special updates and offers."
According to the team site, the first chap to notice the signup ad was "13 year old Alistair Donaldson of Loggerheads, Shropshire in the United Kingdom." Unfortunately, I don't see a way to link to the main story with the lad's picture. You'll have to just go to the team home page, I suppose (note to Aztex webmaster: provide permalinks to your stories! ;-).

All, I can say is, "Ugh".
But, hey, ok, I guess, if they really want to cater to the fish-n-chips kids.
They're doing a crap job linking in to the local community, as far as I'm concerned, if that's who they use as a model supporter. They should've emailed all the local youth clubs to let them know that that link was going up. That would've been much better publicity than cute little Alistair.
We really need to get our own group going, I think, to try and drum up a different view of this team.

Yeah, that's a good point. Or at least they should have highlighted two firsts: one from the UK and one from the US.
At any rate, hopefully this doesn't represent an internal bias of the Aztex as a stateside Stoke City appendage, as Tom Dunmore feared in that recent foreign ownership post on Pitch Invasion.
You know, it's also easy to imagine something much more harmless. Such as, the website and/or team staff just getting overly excited that their first signup -- before they'd even promoted it much of anywhere -- was a Brit. That is, as opposed to some diabolical anti-U.S. marketing plot. ;-)
